7 Things to Look Forward to in New York City in 2020
With Hudson Yards, the new Essex Market and Market Line opening, 2019 was an exciting year for foodies! As the year comes to a close, we look into the future. Here are seven things to look forward to in New York City in 2020.
Museum of Ice Cream
P.C.: Museum of Ice Cream – New York
Museum of Ice Cream (558 Broadway) just opened its doors and they have a lot of exciting things planned for 2020. For its entrance fee of $39, you get to explore 13 exhibits with names like the Celebration Room, Celestial Subway and Sprinkle Room. You also get to try ice cream treats all along the way! We are especially excited to try the three story swirly slide!
L&B Spumoni Gardens New Location
L&B Spumoni Gardens (2725 86th St, Brooklyn) is one of our favorite pizzerias in New York City. Their Sicilian square pizza just can’t be beat! Unfortunately the pizzeria is located quite far away in Gravesend so we are looking forward to their new location opening in Dumbo!
The Krispy Kreme Mega Store
P.C.: yelp, J. Lawrence N.
Krispy Kreme is opening a huge mega flagship store in Times Square that will be open 24 hours a day. You will be able to watch all the doughnuts being made (described as a doughnut theater experience) and there will even be a glazed waterfall!
New Exhibit at the New York Botanical Garden
P.C.: wikipedia, Ciakpicz
Kusama: Cosmic Nature is a new exhibit opening at the New York Botanical Garden on May 9 with works from Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. This exhibit is “designed to capture and illuminate the artist’s profound engagement with nature throughout the changing seasons from spring into fall”. We can’t wait to see the colossal polka-dotted sculptures of flora, the monumental pumpkin sculpture and more.
The New Rides in Coney Island
Coney Island is always a great day trip idea so we are excited to hear that a new rope course, a log flume and roller coaster will all be opening in 2020. This is great news for any thrill seeker!
Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year aka the Lunar New Year is on January 25 next year. It is going to be the year of the rat and Chinatown is sure to be buzzing with excitement. It is a great time to join us for a food tour of Chinatown and Little Italy!
NYC Restaurant Week
NYC Restaurant Week is showing no signs of slowing down! It is still the best time to explore and find new restaurants in New York City to try. NYC Restaurant Week is starting on January 21 and is ending on February 9 in 2020. Stay tuned to our blog for our recommendations.
