Ahoy New York’s Trip to Provence, France
Recently Alana from Ahoy New York Tours & Tasting had the opportunity to travel to Provence, France. Alana had always dreamed of visiting this region in France and was excited to get off-the-beaten path and go on a guided excursion. After a brief internet search and reading wonderful reviews, Alana decided to book not one, but two days with Tours In Provence! Cécile the owner and guide was a delight. Alana and her husband spent one day visiting Cassis and Marseille and the next day visiting The Luberon region (mountains). Both regions were unique, full of history, culture and cuisine. Cécile made sure to share all the nooks and crannies about the regions, take great photos of Alana and her husband and recommend good spots to dine for lunch. Alana shares that it is true what you read about Provence, you…

Ahoy’s Philly Trip! One word… Cheesesteak
Recently Ahoy NY decided to take a trip to Philly. During our visit sure we stopped by the museums and learned about the history of America, but we also made it a point to try a couple of yummy cheesesteaks!! During our two day visit we tried two cheesesteaks. On our first day we stopped at the famous Pat’s King of Steaks, which by the way is the ORIGINAL Philly Cheesesteak. Be prepared when you go to know HOW to order! You let them know with or withOUT onions and select the cheese. The Philly classic of course is with Cheez Wiz and onions. On our second day we visited the Reading Terminal Market, the Reading Terminal Market is located in the Center City of Philadelphia. The market is a historic farmers market that has a selection of Amish specialties, baked goods, meats, produce, ethnic foods, and eclectic…

Many of you know by reading my Facebook and blog posts that I adore NYC pizza. However, I do have to hand it to Chicago, they have amazing pizza too– and their very own style of making it. Chicago stuffed pizza (vs. deep dish that we see at Pizzeria Uno) is the idea of a deep dish pizza, however a thin layer of dough forms in a bowl in a high-sided pan and the toppings and cheese are added. Then, an additional layer of dough goes on top and is pressed to the sides of the bottom crust. The tomato sauce goes on…
