Cheap Lunch Options Near New York Comic Con
New York Comic Con takes place October 10- 13 this year. For one weekend a year New York City becomes a beacon of pop culture and it attracts people from all over the world. While enjoying this unique experience we find that it can be tough to find good cheap places to eat near the Jacob Javits Center. So, we are happy to share with you Ahoy New York’s handy guide of our favorite cheap lunch options near New York Comic Con.
2 Bros Pizza – 542 9th Ave
If you are on a very tight budget for lunch (after buying all sorts of cool collectibles), 2 Bros Pizza is hands down the cheapest lunch option in the area. You can’t beat two tasty slices of pizza, piping hot, and a can of soda for only $2.75.
Tabata Noodle – 540 9th Ave
If you are craving something a little different, next to 2 Bros Pizza is Tabata Noodle, serving delicious ramen noodles. Ramen here will set you about $10 and our favorite is their Shoyu Ramen which uses a yummy soy sauce based broth.
Lunch Box Buffet – 257 W 34th St
Lunch Box Buffet has all the Chinese food staples like fried rice, lo mein and stir fry mixed vegetables—the best part is lunch only cost 5 choices for $5. There are endless combinations that you can make but you must try their wine chicken. Lunch Box Buffet has a large dining area upstairs so you don’t have to get your food to go unlike smaller places such as 2 Bros Pizza.
Tick Tock Diner – 481 8th Ave
Tick Tock Diner is a good classic diner close by, serving American comfort food like burgers and Ruben sandwiches. They also make some of the best milkshakes in the city. Skylight Diner (402 W 34th St) is another option close by.
Thai Select – 472 9th Ave
There are a number of Thai restaurants close to the Jacob Javits Center on 9th Ave and our favorite is Thai Select. Definitely take advantage of their daily lunch specials. Our go to dish is their spicy Thai whole wheat fettuccine with tofu.
Pop’s Food Shop – 425 7th Ave
Pop’s Burgers is a little bit of a walk from the Jacob Javits Center but their mini- cheeseburgers are only $1.75. They are conveniently wrapped in foil and save fairly well so you can take the subway to the Herald Square station pick up a couple of burgers and enjoy them later in the day.
