Foodie to Do List: Chinatown Restaurant Week 2014
There are only a few more days for Chinatown Restaurant Week 2014. It should be on your foodie to do list unless of course you’ve already visited some of the great participating restaurants! It is a perfect opportunity to explore the rich, vibrant foodie ecosystem in Chinatown.
There is truly everything from Chinese to Vietnamese cuisine represented with neighborhood mainstays like Hop Lee (16 Mott St) and Nha Trang One (87 Baxter St) respectively. Peking duck has to be up there among our favorite dishes and the Peking Duck House (28 Mott St) is an absolute must for lunch. Another good option for Peking duck is HK Wonton Garden (79 Mulberry St). Another one of our favorite dishes is xiao long bao or Shanghai steamed soup dumplings and you can get a sample of those at Shanghai Cuisine (89 Bayard St) or Shanghai Gourmet (23 Pell St).
Some of our favorite restaurants in Chinatown are participating in Chinatown Restaurant Week this year. Lobster Boat Restaurant (11 Mott St) is one of favorite seafood restaurants not only in Chinatown but in all of New York City. They also surprisingly have a delicious, juicy roast chicken that they call sirloin chicken and you can’t go wrong with pairing it with a steamed lobster. For vegetarians, there is the Vegetarian Dim Sum House (24 Pell St #1). We love their spinach dumplings and mock chicken. Finally, we have been raving about Aux Epices (121 Baxter St) for months now and there is really no better time to try their Malaysian dishes and yummy noodles.
So many good options and so little time…
