Seven Fun Things to Do in New York City for Fall 2021
Fall is probably our favorite season in New York City and hopefully it is going to bring cooler temperatures. It is also when a lot of the biggest festivals, events and shows are coming back. So here are seven fun things to do in New York City for fall 2021. Just note that many of these events will require masks and proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test, we suggest to arrive prepared.
The Feast of San Gennaro

The Feast of San Gennaro is going to be taking over Little Italy for 11 days from September 16- 26 and we can’t be more excited! Yummy cannoli, juicy sausages, carnival games, live music and so much more awaits. Take a look at our guide to the Feast of San Gennaro for more information.
Mid-Autumn Festival in Chinatown

The Mid-Autumn Festival also known as the Mooncake Festival is September 21 in 2021. It is the perfect time to come to Chinatown and sample all the flavors of mooncakes. It is a decadent treat made with yolk, sweet bean or lotus seed paste. In fact, one of our traditions every year is to buy one mooncake (sometimes a lot more than one), cut it up into slices and share it with the people we care about the most.
New York Film Festival & New York Food and Wine Festival

The fall is also home to two big festivals in New York City. Movie lovers will have September 24- October 10 circled on their calendars for the New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center and foodies having been eyeing the New York Food and Wine Festival which takes place on October 14- 17. Both are a ton of fun.
New York Comic Con

One of the biggest pop culture events is back in New York City this year from October 7- 10. It is a four day celebration of all things comics, anime, video games, TV, movies and more. There will be fun panels, celebrity autograph signings, lots of cosplay and plenty of interesting booths for shopping.
Celebrate Halloween & Thanksgiving in New York City

There are two big holidays in the fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving and New York City is a great place to celebrate both. For Halloween, New York’s Village Halloween Parade is not to be missed event and for Thanksgiving, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade with all the colorful floats is a timeless tradition.
Ahoy New York’s Virtual Cooking Experiences
Ahoy NY’s virtual cooking experiences will also be back this fall! These are all ages’ online cooking classes that are great for birthday celebrations, bachelor/ bachelorette parties, baby/ bridal showers, family reunions, team building events or corporate mixers. Visit Italy vicariously through delicious foods. We also are offer fun classes for the kiddos too! Ahoy New York will also still be offering our food tours of Chinatown, Little Italy and Nolita.
Broadway Shows Reopening

Finally most of the Broadway shows including Hamilton (9/14), Wicked (9/14), The Phantom of the Opera (10/22) and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (11/16) will reopen this fall. New York City is not the same without these historic theaters fully open!
