Smokin’ BBQ
This past weekend I made sure to stop by the Big Apple BBQ in Madison Square Park (a BBQ fest with pitmasters from all over the country!). With 15 pitmasters smokin’ up ribs, pulled pork, brisket and more there was a lot to choose from! I personally chose some pulled pork — Carolina style and then some Texas brisket…YUM!
Since the Big Apple BBQ only takes place one weekend a year– I make sure to get to hit up some local places here in NYC that serve great BBQ. My favorite is Dinosaur BBQ in Harlem– its always consistent and very friendly to my wallet 🙂 Its pretty easy to get to as well, take the 1 train uptown to 125th street and walk a couple of blocks and you are in BBQ heaven. Order their ribs or pulled pork sandwich. I can even bring along my vegetarian sister — one of their well known dishes that they serve is Drunken Spicy Shrimp!
Most dishes are served with a choice of two sides–my recommendations are the mac and cheese (with a hint of spice) and the BBQ pork fried rice.
Happy Tasting 🙂
