David Burke Tavern – 135 E 62nd St
P.C.: yelp, Laura A.
We were very sad that David Burke Kitchen closed awhile back. It was one of our go to places for NYC Restaurant Week but David Burke Tavern has a lot of the same innovative dishes like the steamed angry lobster dumplings, clothesline bacon and cheesecake lollipop tree. Also if you looking for an unique dining experience check out dining in David Burke Tavern’s glass truck for NYC Restaurant Week!
Brooklyn Chop House – 150 Nassau St
P.C.: Brooklyn Chop House
Oddly enough Brooklyn Chop House is not in Brooklyn but in the Financial District. It is a classic steakhouse with an interesting Asian twist and it has a beautiful dining room. Brooklyn Chop House has both lunch and dinner prix fixe menus with items like French onion soup dumplings, pastrami dumplings, kung pao chicken and 12 oz NY strip steak.
Maloney & Porcelli– 37 E 50th St
P.C.: yelp, Phil S.
It is no secret that we love steak and you can get get an amazing steak at Maloney & Porcelli too. You can get a 10 oz filet mignon for Restaurant Week or other steakhouse classics like osso bucco along with appetizers like dry aged meatballs and Wagyu steak tartare. Yum!
Freemans – Freeman Alley
P.C.: yelp, Nino G.
After all these years, Freemans is a foodie landmark. Hidden away on Freemans Alley, it is hard to find yet it always seems to be busy. If you haven’t tried Freemans yet, NYC Restaurant Week is a great time to check out what all the buzz is about. Their hot artichoke dip, devils on horseback and half roasted chicken are all musts.
Lafayette – 380 Lafayette St
One of our favorite dishes is duck confit so we are very excited to see it on Lafayette’s menu. Their appetizers like the winter salad and their desserts like the profiteroles all sound amazing too!
Hanjan – 36 W 26th St
P.C.: yelp, Mary P.
If you are looking for something a little different during NYC Restaurant Week, we recommend checking out Hanjan, a Korean restaurant that fuses traditional Korean dishes with innovative new ones. We can’t wait to try the tangy spicy chicken nuggets, wild Japanese yellowtail sashimi, bibimbaps, kimchi fried rice and soy poached Alaskan black cod!
French Louie – 320 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn
P.C.: yelp, Sara P.
Finally there are a lot of exciting restaurants outside of Manhattan participating in NYC Restaurant Week and French Louie is one of the them. It is a French American restaurant with dishes like chicken liver pate, steak frites, steak tartare and pan roasted monkfish. We want to try them all!
