The 7 Best Dessert Shops in Chinatown and Little Italy Open Right Now
The summer is here and we are on the hunt for the best desserts in Chinatown and Little Italy! These neighborhoods have so many delicious options including a bunch of hidden gems. So with everything from Japanese style cheese tarts to Italian gelato, here are the best desserts shops in Chinatown and Little Italy open right now.
Pinklady Cheese Tart – 11 Mott St
We are absolutely addicted to Pinklady’s Japanese style cheese tarts. They come in original, green tea and chocolate flavors. All of them are light and fluffy and the tarts’ crust adds just the perfect amount of crunch. Trust us, it is really hard to have just one tart!
Chinatown Ice Cream Factory – 65 Bayard St
P.C.: Chinatown Ice Cream Factory
Chinatown Ice Cream Factory has been a neighborhood favorite for decades and their ice cream is still top notch. We especially love them for their Asian flavors like black sesame, lychee and red bean. Their ice cream really hits the spot on hot summer days.
Mango Mango Dessert – 63 Bayard St
P.C.: yelp, Holly C.
If you love mangoes and desserts, you have to check out Mango Mango Dessert. They have a menu full of tempting and refreshing mango treats. Some of our go-tos have been their sundaes and anything with tang yuan (glutinous rice balls). They also have durian flavored desserts if you are feeling adventurous.
Sweet House Drinks and Desserts – 67 Bayard St
P.C.: Sweet House Drinks and Desserts
Bayard Street is still a hub of great dessert spots in Chinatown and right next door to the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory and Mango Mango Dessert there is also Sweet House Drinks and Desserts which specializes in Hong Kong style desserts. We love all their desserts featuring fresh fruits!
Ferrara’s Bakery – 195 Grand St
Ferrara’s Bakery is still the go to place for sweet treats and desserts in Little Italy. They have rows and rows of yummy Italian pastries and we highly recommend their cannoli and lobster tails. Can’t make your way to Little Italy or Ferrara’s Bakery then you will love our Ahoy NY Cookie Snack Pack! It features Ferrara’s rainbow cookies and pignoli cookies. (The Cookie Snack Pack also has sesame cookies from Fay Da Bakery, a recipe to make your own pignoli cookies and an option to add 3 amazing NYC themed butter cookies from Mama’s Custom Cookies!)
La Bella Ferrara – 108 Mulberry St
Another spot for Italian pastries is La Bella Ferrara. This is a fast and convenient spot to pick up a cannoli or two in the neighborhood.
Mo Gelato – 178 Mulberry St
P.C.: yelp, Keith H.
Finally, are you craving some Italian gelati or sorbets? You have to make your way to Mo Gelato. They have a ton of yummy flavors to choose from but our absolute favorite is stracciatella. We also recommend trying their gelato panini sandwiches.
