Benchmark Filet Mignon

New York City Restaurant Week is back on January 21 and ends on February 9. You can’t beat lunch for $26 and dinner for $42 at some of the best restaurants in NYC. So with that in mind, here are our picks for the 7 best restaurants for NYC Restaurant Week, winter 2020. There is a little something for everyone!

Union Square Cafe – 101 E 19th St

Union Square Cafe Trout

P.C.: yelp, Jennifer R.

Union Square Cafe is Danny Meyer’s flagship restaurant and it is a foodie landmark in New York City. It won a ton of awards and it moved to a beautiful new location a few years back…which makes NYC Restaurant Week the perfect time to check it out. We are eyeing their confit tuna & farro salad and the trout a la plancha off their lunch menu.

Kellari Taverna – 19 W 44th St

Kellari Taverna Striped Bass

P.C.: yelp, Jeannie T.

One of the more interesting restaurants participating in this year’s NYC Restaurant Week is Kellari Taverna. It is a Greek restaurant near the Theatre District in Midtown Manhattan. They have some delicious seafood options including tuna tartare, pan seared striped bass and cod plaki but we are especially excited to see a lamb shank on the menu. It is one of our favorite dishes during the winter!

Morimoto – 88 10th Ave

Morimoto Skirt Steak

P.C.: yelp, Grace N.

Are you a fan of Chef Masaharu Morimoto? We are and we are definitely excited to see his restaurant participating in NYC Restaurant Week. Their menu will feature fresh takes on Japanese classics with dishes like snow crab sunomono (a Japanese cucumber salad) and skirt steak with maitake mushrooms and shishitos.

The Woo – 206 Spring St

The Woo Lunch

P.C.: yelp, Jules C.

We recently have been absolutely addicted to Korean cuisine and the Woo really caught our eye. They have a huge restaurant week menu with a bunch of yummy options. Their beef short rib dumplings, roast duck wrapped in a miso crepe and bibimbap all sound amazing! You can also opt for tabletop grilling and there are a lot of meats on that menu to choose from too.

Khe-Yo – 157 Duane St

Khe Yo Desserts

=P.C.: yelp, Karen C.

Khe-Yo is our pick this year if you are looking for something a little different. It is a Laotian restaurant in Tribeca. We can’t wait to try their pork belly wonton soup, oxtail coconut curry soup, banana leaf wrapped black bass and toasted coconut gelato.

Benchmark Restaurant – 339A 2nd St, Brooklyn

Benchmark Cookie Dough Eggroll with Espresso Gelato

There are also plenty of restaurants outside of Manhattan participating in NYC Restaurant Week. One of our favorite restaurants in Brooklyn is Benchmark. It is an American steakhouse in Park Slope. We are definitely getting their pastrami spiced crab cake, filet mignon and cookie dough eggroll.

Artie’s Steak and Seafood – 394 City Island Ave, Bronx

Artie's Steak and Seafood Mussels

P.C.: yelp, Nora F.

City Island is renowned for their excellent seafood restaurants and it can be a fun day trip. Artie’s Steak and Seafood has a lot of mouth watering options on their restaurant week menu with items like grilled shrimp & calamari salad, mussels bianco and baked Atlantic cod fish.
