It is no secret that Soho is one of the world’s most renowned hotspots for shopping. It is also home to a number of celebrated restaurants that draw locals and visitors alike. You can spend days in Soho and still discover exciting new shops, eateries and restaurants. Balthazar – 80 Spring St
Balthazar is a popular restaurant that can be best described as a French Brasserie that is like a portal to Paris. You can’t go wrong with their steak frites that has just the perfect char or their tender duck confit that has the perfect crispy skin. It is the attention to details that sets Balthazar apart.
Lure Fishbar – 142 Mercer St
Lure Fishbar serves super fresh seafood such as their roasted Atlantic Salmon or their nori crusted tuna served with garlic fried rice. Lure also has a very good selection of oysters and has a sushi bar.
Ed’s Lobster Bar – 222 Lafayette St
When you think of Ed’s Lobster Bar, the first thing most would think of is their succulent lobster rolls. However, they have a menu with favorites such as their lobster pot pie and their New York shellfish stew that draws in seafood lovers from around the city.
Mercer Kitchen – 99 Prince St
Mercer Kitchen is a Jean-Georges’ restaurant with a smorgasbord of culinary delights! For example, they have a menu of interesting and delicious pizzas such as ones with black truffle and another one with raw tuna and wasabi that has quite the bite to it.
Soho Park – 62 Prince St
Soho Park makes great, tasty burgers but (perhaps surprisingly) the one that stands out the most is their veggie burger. There are a bunch of restaurants, shops and food trucks in New York City that have a great burger but a great veggie burger is much more rare. They pack a lot of flavor in that patty.
Fanelli’s Cafe – 94 Prince St
Another place for a tasty burger in Soho is the historic Fanelli’s Cafe and strangely enough they also have a very good veggie burger.
Jack’s Wife Freda – 224 Lafayette St
Jack’s Wife Freda is a wonderful brunch spot that is quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite. Dishes like their house cured duck bacon and their green shakshuka are absolutely divine. We can’t imagine a better way to start the day.
Novecento – 343 W Broadway
Novecento is an Argentinian restaurant that serves juicy cuts of steak like their skirt steak served with a chimichurri sauce, along with stunning desserts such as flan. Their empanadas are also a must try.
Thai Angel Cuisine – 141 Grand St
If you are looking for something a little different, Thai Angel Cuisine is a great option especially for lunch and it shows the diversity of restaurants in Soho. You can count on Thai Angel Cuisine to make a yummy pad thai, pad see ew and the like.
Baked By Melissa – 529 Broadway
Finally we had to include Baked By Melissa. Their mini cupcakes have exploded in popularity as of late. The original location was a hole in a wall just off of Broadway. Baked By Melissa’s cupcakes tickle your taste buds and they are very addictive. Some of our favorites are tie dyed and red velvet. Also look out for the special mini cupcake of the month.
