Things to Look Forward to in New York City this Spring
Spring is finally here! The weather is perfect and it is a great time to explore New York City. Some of the excitement includes fun and tasty food festivals and Coney Island officially opening up. We hope you enjoy our list of seven things to look forward in New York City this spring.
Dining Outdoors aka Al Fresco Dining
With the rising temperatures, we can dine outdoors aka al fresco dining! There are countless delicious options across the city and some of our favorites include De Maria (19 Kenmare St), Hudson Clearwater (447 Hudson St), Shake Shack (Madison Square Park) and Lafayette (380 Lafayette St).
Outdoor Food Festivals
Similarly, spring means the return of outdoor food festivals! You can always find something interesting to try. Some of the bigger food festivals are Smorgasburg (returning March 31), Hester Street Fair (returning April 14) and the Urbanspace Markets which include Madison Square Eats and Broadway Bites (both returning early May).
Luna Park and Coney Island Reopening
Luna Park and Coney Island are very popular attractions during the spring and summer months. You can definitely plan a fun weekend getaway here. You can ride the iconic Cyclone roller coaster, hang out on the beach and get lunch at Nathan’s Famous (1310 Surf Ave, Brooklyn). Luna Park reopens on March 24th and lifeguards will be on duty at Coney Island beach from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
The Return of Baseball
Spring also means that baseball is returning! New York City is home to the New York Yankees and the New York Mets and it is looking like both teams will have a great year. The Yankees home opener is April 2 and the Mets home opener is March 29. There are also the Brooklyn Cyclones and Staten Island Yankees minor league teams whose opening dates are in June.
Tribeca Film Festival
