There are so many fun things to do in New York City during the holidays like Christmas shopping on Fifth Avenue, watching a Broadway play or ice skating in Rockefeller Center or Bryant Park. But a holiday-themed, special day out is not complete without something delicious for lunch or dinner. Here are our recommendations on where to eat in New York City during the holidays. All these outstanding restaurants are conveniently close to popular holiday hotspots.

With its holiday market and iconic ice-skating rink, Bryant Park is a can’t miss spot during this time of the year for both locals and visitors to New York City alike! The holiday market has many yummy vendors to choose from for lunch. You can find bratwurst, raclette, dumplings and so much more. But did you know that there is a restaurant in Bryant Park too? The Bryant Park Grill is a great dinner option to soak in the festive atmosphere. They will have a special seasonal menu with scrumptious dishes like grilled pork tenderloin and squash ravioli.

We can’t imagine Christmas and the holidays, without feasting on a massive, mouth- watering steak with a bunch of delicious sides and for this classic steakhouse experience, you can’t beat Del Frisco’s Grille, located right next to Radio City Music Hall and Rockefeller Center. It sure will be a memorable experience!

Burger & Lobster – 132 West 43rd St

If your friends and family are seafood lovers like us, we recommend Burger & Lobster. They have a great location close to many Broadway theaters, Times Square and Bryant Park and their grilled lobster and lobster rolls are so delicious. Burger & Lobster is one of our favorite brunch spots in Midtown too!

Trattoria Dell’Arte – 900 7th Ave

A top-notch Italian pasta just hits the spot especially in the fall and winter season. There are a lot of options for Italian in Midtown but one of our go-to spots for a hearty meal is Trattoria Dell’Arte which is close to Carnegie Hall. We recommend their spaghetti carbonara with lobster, three meat ragu with tagliatelle and lasagna Bolognese. We also love La Pecora Bianca (20 W 40th St) by Bryant Park.

La Bonne Soupe – 48 W 55th St

There are also a lot of French restaurants in Midtown but one that stands out is La Bonne Soupe. It is an inviting, causal French restaurant with classics like steak frites and boeuf bourguignon. You also can’t skip out on their French onion soup. It is the perfect way to warm up during the colder days or maybe even after ice skating. Rue 57 (60 W 57th St) is another good French brasserie close by.

The Burger Joint – 119 W 56th St

Sometimes you are just craving a towering, juicy burger perhaps after a full day shopping across New York City. The Burger Joint has one of our favorite burgers in New York City. It is a simple cheeseburger with the “works” and you can get as a plant-based burger too. The Burger Joint can be a bit tricky to find. It is located at the Thompson Hotel behind a red velvet curtain.
